To me this polish smells like spicy, lemony Christmas trees, just sayin'...

Omg, I am in LOVE with this color! It definitely has a golden sheen to it.

Polish Goodness

Recent NOTD

China Glaze With Love topped with Jordana Sequins, and China Glaze Glitter All The Way on the sparkle nail.

I found out that Sally's has upped their prices on China Glaze polishes (according to a response from customer service). The polishes were $4.99 if you had the Beauty Club card. I noticed that the last polishes I purchased from my local store were $5.49...which is what the advertised price for everyone currently is. So I contacted them about it and was bummed to find out that $5.49 seems to be the new price, regardless of sale, for the BC members. :/

Although I noticed that currently on the website China Glaze polishes are priced at $3.50 for members. I had a $10 off $20 coupon since this is my birthday month, so I placed a small order. I guess I could've spent $50 total and have gotten the "free shipping" but calculating the amount I purchased, I still was able to get them for a wee bit less than the website price with paying for shipping, so all is good.

Here's what I got:

Lubu Heels, Awakening, Rainbow. And from the Cirque Du Soleil collection:  Get Carried Away, It's A Trap-eze, Bend Over Backwards

I kind of had buyer's remorse for Get Carried Away and Bend Over Backwards. I kind of wished I had bought Water You Waiting For and something else instead but oh well. Bend Over Backwards is awesome and I purchased it because I read a blogger saying it had a nice orange duochrome effect to it in some lights...but personally it's sooo similiar to Cranberry Splash. Bend Over Backwards is definitely warmer toned while Cranberry Splash is cooler toned but without seeing them side-by-side, they're too close for me. But I'll wear it. I'm just at the point to where I'd rather not have a lot of "repeat" colors unless it's something that I just can't get enough of or has something a little more unique to it that sets it apart (like I thought Bend Over Backwards would have that orange/red duochrome effect according to that review but I'm not seeing it at all). Reds are always classic though so it'll still be put to good use.

And yesterday I went to Kmart to spend my Shop Your Way Rewards cash (SYWR). Sears/Kmart will randomly give points ($) to people who are signed up with an e-mail address, and the points are usually good for a couple of days. I had some that they had given me and since there wasn't anything I really wanted from work, I figured I could go to Kmart and get some nail polishes...and I did. I also bought a dvd, which is really the only thing I spent money on. The polishes were "free" thanks to the points they gave me.

Wet n Wild Blue Moon and Night Prowl, N.Y.C. Classic Coral Creme (um, which clearly is neither coral nor creme, and probably not much of a "classic" color either, haha).

And a NOTD from last week. I was going for a slight galaxy/night sky nail (inspired by the glitter's name) and loved the way this one looked. Wished I had gotten better pictures but I'll probably do it again something soon after Christmas.

Zippy Blue

This is my current nail look. This is two coats of N.Y.C. Empire State Blue. I attempted to do zebra stripes on my accent nail (sparkle nail!) with the Gold Glitter Art Deco polish by L.A. Colors but that was kind of a fail. The thing I don't like about the Art Deco polishes is that they tend to be soft and soften the polish underneath but I guess that's what top coat is for, haha. I used N.Y.C. Grand Central Station on top of the accent nails (but not my other nails) just to "protect" the art polish.

This looks way brighter than it actually is. The pic of the bottle is more true to color.

Emerald Jazz

I've been on another massive nail polish kick lately. I won't even go into the details of what all I've purchased over the past few days. D:

Here's my current sloppy manicure. I call it Emerald Jazz. Emerald Jazz is what I call my car because it's, well, a pretty jazzy metallic, emerald color. And the main polish I used is pretty much the same shade of green as my car. Since my car is at a shop right now to fix some major issues as a result from lousy mechanic work done last year (grrr), I just want to keep a nice little reminder of my baby close by.

Polishes used:
L.A. Colors clear base/top coat
N.Y.C. Flat Iron Green (undies)
Sally Hansen Emerald City (except on accent nails)
Wet n Wild Teal of Fortune (on accent nails)
Orly Monster Mash (on accent nails)

I had an interview Friday and was called in today to do a drug test. I'm not super thrilled about the potential job, however, at least I now have something lined up. :)

I've picked up quite a few cosmetics from Dollar Tree lately but didn't want to film any haul videos for them. When things start to settle down around here a little bit more I'll start filming again.

I'm actually playing around with a lot of the items that I showed in my other videos. I want to do some reviews on the things that still seem pretty abundantly available at Dollar Trees.

I'm about to grill up what hopefully will be some yummy chicken tenders, and then relax and enjoy my little Honey Bunny, Gavin DeGraw, on Dancing With The Stars. I love that man as much as I love Johnny Depp! Though me and Gavin go waaay back...in my mind. No, I've actually met Gavin on several occassions, which I have yet to have my special JDepp encounters, but Gavin is incredibly awesome! :D

My mom died nearly 3 weeks ago. I don't want to go into details but the important thing is that she is no longer suffering.

It appears that I only have about a month left before my store closes. I'm still sad that the store is closing (since I grew up shopping there) but I'm sure-as-heck not going to miss the stress or unfair treatment (Um, part-time employee working 12+ hours on Easter for mininum wage and no holiday pay...not right imo). In the beginning I thought being an MCA would be a nice, respectable position and an upgrade from doing deli/bakery work...but truthfully I can only go up from here.

In happier news, my dad gave me Escape by Calvin Klein for Easter. I wasn't familiar with the scent by name but I absolutely LOVE it!! Its scent is pretty much something I've been seeking for a long time! I'm impressed, my daddy did good. :D

I'm contemplating buying Bare Minerals. Sephora has that starter set for $60ish but it doesn't include the concealer (which I feel that I would need since my deep-set scars always makes areas on my cheeks appear so much darker). They also carry a $20 set (with concealer), however my local store doesn't carry it. *sigh* What I should've done was purchased the $20 set and the Urban Decay palette I wanted while they had the 15% deal going on (darn, didn't even think about the UD at the time). heh

I had more that I wanted to post about but my mind's blanking... lol, oh well, another time.

I hate that my store is going out of business (and I might be out of a job) but I do like the discounts. Today I purchased a pair of jeans for under $10 and a fun knitted top. Actually, the main reason why I liked the top was the knitting...it's pretty basic, especially in the way of "lace knitting" but Idk, sometimes it's ~fun~ to have something different than what you would normally make.

Btw, I could've sworn that I've updated this blog a couple of times since what os showing up as the last entry...oy!

I need a good recipe for chicken noodle soup.

I want to start making some YouTube videos soon, especially in the way of hauls and OOTDs.

Yep...
